Starting blogging again in my thirties

TL;DR

I’m blogging again. Yes, in 2025. Yes, with more passion. I’ll mostly write about:

  • Technology and Art(!)
  • Thoughts and observations
  • Things that interest me (!? loophole for the future)

History

Blogs were my doorway to the internet in my early twenties. This was before social media took over my life, when blogger.com and wordpress.com felt like the coolest places online.

My first blog lived on blogger.com, and I promptly abandoned it the moment Facebook and YouTube became a thing.

Now I’m back. Blogging always had this eccentric charm for me, a quiet, open notebook to the world, like shouting your thoughts into an empty room and being pleasantly surprised when someone shouts back.

Design

This blog’s design is inspired by Harper Reed’s blog: minimal, clean, and split into posts and notes.

He uses Hugo, but I chose Astro since I already use it for my other sites. Just convenience, with room for changes later. I’ve also added some markdown content guidelines and naming conventions for consistency… future-me can deal with that.

The site is built with GitHub Actions and deployed on Hostinger.
Analytics and Search Console are plugged in, because what’s blogging without checking visitor stats every week?

No CMS. Still just markdown files. Pure JAMstack. Pure “if it breaks, I know exactly who to blame (me).”

Goals/Plan

Not aiming for daily posts, only real goal is consistency.
